The Practice Development and Support Program is designed to co-ordinate and implement effective practice support services to all General Practices in the New England region. The program promotes the “team approach” for GPs, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses and practice staff, working together to meet and enhance common goals through the provision of:
· Access to timely information and developed resources;
· Relevant professional development, educational activities and training;
· Assistance with the implementation of MBS items to enhance patient care;
· Networking opportunities.
Resources and tools include:
· Assistance and training to help with accreditation (or re-accreditation), including a mock survey visit for your practice;
· Guidelines to facilitate human resource management, workplace health and safety and infection control;
· Support in the employment, up-skilling and retention of a Practice Nurse;
· Information management, including clinical software templates;
· Vaccine management and cold chain guidelines.
